Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes, I offer a complimentary 20-minute phone consultation to help determine whether we may be a good fit for working together.

During the consultation, you will have the opportunity to briefly discuss the concerns that are bringing you to therapy, ask questions about my approach, and learn more about what therapy with me might look like. We can also discuss practical matters such as scheduling, insurance/fees, and next steps.

Do you meet in-person for therapy?

I currently provide psychotherapy exclusively through a secure telehealth platform and do not offer in-person appointments. Telehealth allows clients to access therapy from the comfort and privacy of their own environment while maintaining the same level of care and confidentiality as traditional office-based treatment.

How do I schedule an appointment?

For new clients you can schedule an initial phone consultation online, by emailing or giving me a call at 602-429-9794.

What can I expect during my first session?

Our work together begins with a comprehensive psychiatric assessment designed to develop a thorough understanding of your concerns, history, and goals. Depending on the nature and complexity of the issues bringing you to treatment, the assessment process typically takes place over one to three sessions.

Following the assessment, I will share my clinical understanding of the challenges that led you to seek care and discuss treatment recommendations tailored to your specific needs.

Do you prescribe medication?

My practice is focused exclusively on psychotherapy and psychological assessment. I do not prescribe medication. If medication evaluation or management appears warranted, I can help coordinate care with a psychiatrist, primary care physician, or other qualified prescribing provider as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.

How often should I attend counseling sessions?

The frequency of sessions depends on your individual needs and goals. Typically people gain the most help from weekly sessions. As therapy progresses sessions may lessen to biweekly or monthly appointments. We work together to determine the best schedule.

How long will I need to attend therapy?

The number of sessions required varies from person to person and depends on your specific goals and progress. Some people find relief in just a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term therapy (20+ sessions).
